Steven Haynes has over 25 years of investigations experience.
He has provided due diligence services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa to every leading US and European investment bank, identifying financial crime and reputation risks in support of over 400 IPOs and bond issues. He supports private equity firms and M&A teams prior to investments and transactions. He has worked on behalf of several multilateral finance institutions, including the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, and the African Development Bank.
Steven was a co-founder in 2012 of Greyhawk, a corporate intelligence firm. Greyhawk was ranked by Chambers & Partners as a leading firm in multiple categories: Investigative Due Diligence, International Asset Tracing, and Business Intelligence. Greyhawk became part of the Mintz Group in 2025.
Steven works with lawyers and their clients during high value and cross-border disputes. He provides intelligence to inform litigation strategy and evidence to support client positions. He is recognised as a leader in Asset Recovery by Who’s Who Legal / Lexology. His analysis of the role of intelligence in asset tracing was published by the Oxford University Press in International Asset Tracing in Insolvency (OUP, 2009).
He has notable experience in many complex markets across Africa and the Middle East.
He studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University and joined the investigations sector in 1997 after a career as a news reporter.
