Michael Helmicki

Michael “Mick” Helmicki serves as the firm’s Chief Commercial Officer, working closely with our client facing leaders to shape Mintz Group’s market-driven offerings. He leads the firm’s commercial function spanning go-to-market strategies, sales, marketing and client account management functions globally.  

Mick brings more than 25 years of commercial strategy, management and leadership experience to his position. Most recently, he was an executive with global law firm DLA Piper, where he held senior business development roles and helped guide strategic growth and business development initiatives across geographies and practice areas. Prior to joining DLA Piper, Mick was a Managing Director with Briley Group and a General Partner with Corstone Capital where he managed global investment mandates and led growth initiatives across a diverse portfolio of services, technology, manufacturing and consumer businesses in the US, Europe, China and Korea. As part of his remit, Mick was responsible for portfolio oversight and risk governance covering all elements of market, counterparty and operational risk.  Earlier, he was a Partner with Edison Partners where he focused on growth equity investments in technology and services businesses. Prior to starting his career at Accenture, Mick was a policy analyst and advisor to Former British Prime Minister, Sir Edward Heath.

Mick has served on the boards of several companies including NFR Security, Cambridgesoft, Celltrion DBI, Avista and Igloo Security. He earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and subsequently served as President of Kellogg’s Washington, DC Alumni Association.
